The route between Mandi to Kullu near Dawada has been closed. Around four o'clock in the morning, stones started falling from the hill. After eight o'clock, heavy debris hit the road. The work of opening the route could not be started due to continuous stone fall from the mountain. In view of the danger, the administration stopped the movement of vehicles in the early hours. Despite the weather being clear, there has been a heavy landslide from the hill at the place called Kara of Dawada. NH machinery including police are deployed on the spot. The stones are falling after a while. The route will be opened only when the situation is normal.
 
Often stones fall from the hill at this place. In the past too, two people died due to falling stones on vehicles here. There were also incidents of stone fall on the car last year. At this place, the Beas river reaches the road. Most of the highway here comes to a standstill during the rainy season.

Many times the river water also comes on the highway due to heavy rains. During this time the route is blocked for traffic. But even after the weather cleared on Saturday, the landslide started from the hill and the movement of vehicles stopped on the route in the morning. The administration sent vehicles coming from Kullu via Baya Katula.
