The extradition of Nirav Modi will be heard in British court from tomorrow
The Indian government has demanded Modi's extradition in connection with a bank scam and money laundering.

Modi, who has been lodged in a London jail since March 2019, will appear in court through a video link from there, while his lawyer will plead the case in front of the judge.
49-year-old Nirav Modi, along with his maternal uncle Mehul Choksi, had escaped from India after a scam of over Rs 12,000 crore in Punjab National Bank. Modi is caught but Choksi is still out of the custody of security agencies.
The Indian government has demanded Modi's extradition in connection with the bank scam and money laundering. In London's Westminster Magistrate Court, the Government of India will demand for Modi's custody by putting new arguments.

Due to the Corona virus prevention rules, District Judge Samuel Gooji has ordered a court appearance through the video link of Modi from the cell of Wandsworth jail. The case related to it will be completed on Friday after five consecutive days of hearing. Justice Gooji headed the court bench in the hearing of the case in May. In it, allegations of fraud and money laundering on Modi were found prima facie correct. In the hearing to be held from Monday, the evidence presented by the Government of India will be debated and the court will decide on them.
