Centre approves arms esteem Rs 2,290 crore, along with 72,000 additional assault rifles from US

“The DAC headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh concurred approval for different arms and equipment worth Rs 2,290 crore,” the defence ministry said. The expense of procurement of the Sig Sauer attack rifles for the frontline troops of the Indian Army will be Rs 780 crore, officials said.

The Rajnath Singh-led Defense Acquisitions Council (DAC) cleared the Rs 780 crore obtaining of the assault rifles from US organization SiG Sauer.
