Shatunkala Devi was born in Mysore, India in an Hindu Bramhin Family . She was a mathematical prodigy , genius who could do big calculations in seconds . She was one of famous astrologer and numerologer who had written a number of books for students to make them take interest in mathematics .she has also researched and wrote books on homosexualities. 

She was born in 4th November in an orthodox Kannada  Bramhin family. The family from which she belonged was of great astrologers and hence her father was expected to go the same but he was never interested in astrology neither  knew much about it . But on continuous family pressure his father had run away from home and took shelter in a circus . He had gained much interest their become a trapeze then finally a lion trainer and magician . Her father discovered his daughters ability to memorise numbers while teaching her a card trick when she was about 3 years old . Her father left circus and took her on road that displayed her ability to calculate large numbers . She did this without any formal education from any university. At the age of 6 , she demonstrated her arithmetic abilities at the Mysore university . She had herself accepted that she was god gifted in her ability to remember things in one go. Indeed this extraordinary quality of hers made her travel across the world with her father . She went US, Europe , Russia , china everywhere . Once in an interview in BBC news channel she was invited because of her being famous across the world as a mathematical prodigy . The host of the show had asked her a casual calculation of 21 digits and Shakuntala Devi had answered it within 30 secs but the host had told that the answer which she had told wasn't correct this was a mistake of the channel as the answer which the host had it wasn't correct , Shakuntala Devi’s answer was absolutely correct. she generally said numbers are beautiful figures who don't separate between creed, caste, race or colour. She was called as a “Human Computer “ who had uncanny ability to memorise numbers . In 1980, at the Imperial college of London , she correctly multiplied two 13-digit numbers in only 28 seconds .  The feat was even more remarkable because it included the Time to recite the 26-digit solution!

Maths can be use to calculate anything , universe works on the it . 

She had gained a title as a “Mathematical Ambassador”  by Indira Gandhi . She had gained up interests on homosexuals ,LGBT’s after she was married to an Indian civil servant who was a homosexual . She wrote many books on LGBT’s for their rights but it had gained several rounds of controversy across the state . 

She tried a lot making mathematics easy for students . Books were written for children , students and graduates and masters levels . She had also made seminars on different helping students on mathematic field . She was also an popular Indian astrologer . As she said astrology is a magic of numbers .

On June 18, 1980, she demonstrated the multiplication of two 13-digit numbers, which was randomly picked at the random by the Computer Department of Imperial College London and answered it correctly. The two numbers picked were-- 7,686,369,774,870 × 2,465,099,745,779 and the answer was 18,947,668,177,995,426,462,773,730. The book was recorded in the 1982 Guinness Book of Records. 

 In April 2013, Shakuntala Devi was admitted to a hospital after she complained about respiratory problems. Within two weeks of getting admitted, After getting she suffered from complications of the heart and kidneys. On April 21, 2013, Shakuntala died at the age of 83 years old.
