Gujrat current news update: The government has passed a bill on salary cut of MLA's and MP's for the COVID-19 pandemic
India is facing a huge surge of monetary loss due to the COVID-19 pandemic due to the shut down of the Industries and Markets. Gujrat - industrial-hub faced a huge loss to compensate for the loss the state has initiated to save Rs.6.57 crore by the 30 % deduction of salary for one year.

Gujarat govt decides to cut down salaries of MLAs, ministers by 30% for one year to save Rs .6.57 crore annual for the upliftment of the state economy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gujrat has earlier passed an ordinance in the parliament for the deduction of the salary for one year from the ministers of the cabinet which would be recently passed on in the next session. The proposed bill will replace an ordinance issued earlier. Minister of State for Home Pradipsinh Jadeja told the media persons that this decision was made earlier. The cabinet had then issued an ordinance that elected representatives will be paid 30 percent fewer salaries due to the coronavirus pandemic from April 2020 to March 2021. He said that the state government will save Rs. 6.27 crore by the cut in salaries of elected representatives. The amount of money that would be saved by the deduction would be used to fight against the coronavirus pandemic which includes building hospitals for treating patients, supplying food in villages, the establishment of small-scale industrial outputs, and much more so that the economic losses could be recovered early. Gujrat has also helped in the sector for women-work opportunity campaigns so that women could earn money during the pandemic to support financial upliftment. |
