With the increase in cases all over the globe, the search for an effective vaccine is the need of the hour. Russia being the first country to release a vaccine for COVID-19 is now ready to give out the first batch of vaccine by the end of the month of August. Although at the very start, it was said that the vaccine would be released in September and would be available in bulk for people by October. The first batch of the Russian vaccine for novel Coronavirus has been manufactured, according to a report in Reuters news agency. On the 11th of August Russia said that a vaccine was being developed by Moscow's Gamaleya Institute it was ready and had been accepted by the authorities. This the first novel Coronavirus vaccine that has been allowed for public use.

Nevertheless, the Russian Vaccine is still completely efficient and hasn't received a complete approval from the global scientific community for its use as this vaccine only went through the I and II phases of the trials and was accepted without the compulsory phase III human trials.

In India at least eight candidate vaccines are being developed. Two of these have also reached phase -II trials after completing phase-I.

With six in phase-III, that is the final stage of human trials.

From the last updates currently, India has reached up to 27,02,743 which includes 6,73,166 active cases with Maharashtra still holding the rank of the worst affected state in India with 62,848 active cases and 69,631 discharged or recovered cases. On the brighter side, India has recorded the highest single-day recoveries of 57,584 in the last 24 hours with this India's fatality rate drops comparatively from yesterday's 1.92% to 1.91% now and India's Covid-19 recovery rate soars to an all-time high of 73.1%.

Parliamentary Committee for Home is going to meet tomorrow to discuss the Covid-19 crisis in the country. AIIMS Director Randeep Guleria will also be attending this meeting along with the Health Ministry officials. To help fight against the increase in cases day by day during the coronavirus pandemic, Aam Aadmi Party will be setting up centers for measuring saturation of oxygen content in blood in 30,000 villages across the country, said AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.


 

Not only has this virus affected our health but also caused a collapse in the economy with many people losing their jobs and have pay cuts people are finding it difficult to pay school fees, run their homes, or cover the charges for someone if they get the coronavirus.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday allotted Rs 1,000 crore from the PM-CARES Fund for giving medical treatment and making travel organizations for the migrants for which the PM was under attack by the opposing parties. "This amount would be provided to the state governments/UTs to place it at the disposal of the District Collectors/Municipal Commissioners for strengthening their efforts in providing accommodation facilities, making food arrangements, providing medical treatment, and making transportation arrangements of the migrants," an official statement said.
