Odisha: There has been an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha in the last 24 hours with 1,977 active cases reported in the last 24 hours along with 10 deaths and 1,422 recoveries.

This has led to an increase in the total confirmed cases to 54,630 cases and 3245 deaths with 16,353 active cases and 37,900 recoveries. This can be considered as an increase in the number of cases in the state which has been over 1,000 in the last few weeks with recoveries also in the 1000's.

This can be considered as the achievement of the state to an extent with the implementation of policies including the lockdown in the containment zone and also a consideration and proper treatment of the patients affected by the COVID-19 with 40,000 tests conducted in the last 24 hours which is one of the highest numbers of tests in the country.

There needs to be more work done by the state which can reduce the number of cases even further to at least 100 per day. One of the major reforms can be to reduce the number of cases is to increase contact tracing and to increase testing.

There needs to be more testing is done which can help in identifying and treating more cases which can help in reducing the effect of the COVID-19 on the state. There is a need for more restrictions in the containment areas and there needs to be more enforcement of the lockdown measures including social distancing and the usage of masks.

The second way can be to provide proper treatment for people affected by COVID-19 which includes good hospital facilities and also training of the health workers including doctors and nurses which can help in increasing the effects of the treatment and can prevent the spread of the COVID-19.
