India has recently become the world's third worst-hit country with over 3,049,855 cases deaths 56,875 and Recovered 2,281,982, Maharashtra is the state with the highest number of coronavirus cases that is 657K in total. It's been over six months since we have a lockdown On March 24th night Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared national lockdown due to the growing number of coronavirus cases. In the very start, we all waited patiently for the virus to go away, but at this point, we have come to a point were adapting to this lifestyle of social distancing, wearing masks and sanitization has now become the 'New Normal' and whilst we are still learning to survive in such critical times where if we don't take some particular precautions we are likely to put our lives at risk. So, here are a few ways you can protect yourself and others from the virus by following these points given below:

1. What you can do to slow the spread?
We need to maintain social distancing where we are and stay at home, by doing this we can take care of ourselves and our families and do our bit in helping stop the virus from spreading. The necessary precautions in-home quarantine are- to maintain social distance from family members especially children and the elderly; take proper care of your hygiene; eat clean and immunity-boosting foods; wash your hands frequently with soap or handwash for 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer; do not share household items such as clothes, food or utensils.
If you're sixty-plus or if you have an underlying health condition like- cardiovascular disease, respiratory condition, or diabetes you need to extra cautious and maint social distancing even at home especially from people who are sick.
For mothers who are sick during the coronavirus outbreak and can't breastfeed should first express the milk and then give the milk to the child in a clean cup or a spoon make sure you wash your hands frequently and wear a mask while feeding the child.

One of the most effective ways of fighting the virus is through early detection of Covid-19 by which the infected person can be diagnosed easily and will recover rapidly, one must not hesitate to come forward and report early by doing this they will not only protect themselves but also will protect their family. And for this, you need to know the symptoms of the coronavirus-
Most common symptoms:
fever, dry cough, tiredness
Less common symptoms:
aches and pains, sore throat, diarrhea, conjunctivitis, headache, loss of taste or smell, a rash on the skin, or discoloration of fingers or toes.
Serious symptoms:
difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure, loss of speech, or movement.
Normally it takes 5–6 days from when someone is infected with the virus for symptoms to show, however it can take up to 14 days.
People with asymptomatic cases of COVID-19 i.e; when they do not show any symptoms and yet have the virus have a mild percentage of coronavirus and can be cured through home quarantine.
