Nearly 4 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses administered

Minister for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Harsh Vardhan took to Twitter to inform netizens that till today, nearly 4 crore COVID-19 vaccines were administered. In the post, it was also written to inform that the centre has been closely monitoring situation in Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh, as these states are seeing a steep rise in COVID-19 cases.Â

85% of the new cases are reported in 6 states only.

- Maharashtra: 25,833
- Punjab: 2,369
- Kerala: 1,899
- Karnataka: 1,488
- Gujarat: 1,276
- Chattisgarh: 1,066
As evident, cases in Maharashtra are at peak. With this, the state government has implemented lockdown in Nagpur and curfew at night in Mumbai. Various states have closed down schools and colleges back again after reopening them after almost one year. Rigorous testing is also being conducted at airports and malls. Till date, more than 23 crore covid testing has taken place.
