Spike in the number of policemen affected by COVID-19 in Maharashtra according to several reports

Maharashtra: There has been a spike in the number of Police personnel affected by COVID-19 in the state of Maharashtra on Wednesday with over 381 positive cases in the last 24 hours. This has increased the total active cases to 2,233 cases and overall confirmed cases to 11,773.

This spike comes after several directives were issued by the Government of Maharashtra restricting people of over 50 years from COVID-19 related frontline duties and also restricting people with COVID-19 symptoms. This has caused some success as there has been an increase in the total recoveries among the police personnel but there needs to be more work done.

The cases among the police personnel keep on increasing in Maharashtra which needs to be reduced by the increase in testing and also the isolation of police with symptoms and also the premeditated health condition such as diabetes, Asthma, etc from COVID-19 frontline duties and coming in contact with patients affected by COVID-19.

This cannot be considered as the full success of the state as there has been a spike in the overall cases with 11,088 cases confirmed today and the overall active cases coming to 1,48,553 which is one of the highest in India. There has also been overall death coming to 18,000. This needs to be taken seriously with more measures taken to reduce the Active COVID-19 cases and also the addition of the new cases.

This can be done in several ways including determining the containment zones and increasing the restrictions in the contaminants zone along with increased facilities in the public hospitals and quarantine centers for people affected by COVID-19. There also needs to be an increased number of Personal protective Equipment for police personnel who are in contact with COVID-19 patients.

This can reduce the number of cases in the Maharashtra police.
