Kisan Rail: A step to reduce the wastage of perishable goods.

Ministry of Railway is one of the most active department in current Modi government which we can see most of time like During Covid for migrant labours , development of major railway station or by running trains like Vande Bharat and Tejas and from the date of 7 august 2020 a new feather on cap has been added in the ministry of Railway lead by CA Piyush Goyal  as India’s First Kisan Rail came into existence.

Kisan Train is a step in the government’s target to realising and making the income double for the Farmers by 2022.It was first proposed by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her budget speech as envisaging setting up of a 'Kisan Rail' through the public-private-partnership (PPP) mode for a cold supply chain to transport perishable goods.

Railway minister used his twitter handle to tell public the first train’s Movement.

to communicate this and told about the special feature about the train as it contains special frozen container which will help in the perishable goods like Milk, Fish and meet.

The train will cover 1519 Kilometre of journey in 32 hours Devlali (Maharastra) to Danapur (Bihar) having stops at Nasik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Satna, Katni, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar and Buxar. Maybe it seems like a small step but as soon as more trains will introduced in the list it will help Farmers all around India to conserve and earn from the good which got wasted due to its perishable nature. Most of milk product price can’t reach their intended place due to lack of proper freezer facility.
