Second Covid wave in Maharashtra, Centre asks State government to focus on vaccination.
Maharashtra is on the verge of the second wave of covid 19, as cases surge continuously in March.

15,000+ covid positive cases have been reported in Maharashtra on the 15th of March.
Amid the rising covid cases in Maharashtra, the central government has asked the Maharashtra State Government to focus on the vaccination drives. Maharashtra has been constantly reporting more than 12,000 cases per day since the start of March. The state has the highest number of positive cases till now and the number is still on a rise. Vaccination drives are being conducted by the government but at the same time, the people have been exposed to no strict protocols.
There have been night curfews imposed in the state in some districts. But the centre has mentioned them to be ineffective.
The state has recently imposed more restrictions on theatres, restaurants and swimming pools. Their capacity has been now restricted to 50%. But the state needs to identify the real problem due to which the cases are uprising constantly. There are limited actions taken against people not abiding by the rules. This makes the public complacent and thus takes no measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Union Health Secretary had written a letter to the state government regarding the situation and have mentioned the above points in his letter.
