Spike in COVID-19 case among Police Personnel in Maharashtra said Health Department of Maharashtra

Maharashtra: There has been a continuous spike in the cases of COVID-19 among the police personnel in Maharashtra with 265 cases of the Police personnel confirmed in the last 24 hours. There has been the death of 3 police personnel in the last 24 hours which increased the tally of the total confirmed cases among Police personnel to 11,392 and the total deaths to 121.

There are over 2,084 active cases of Police personnel with 9,187 total recoveries. This is a huge spike in recoveries but there has been an increase in cases that counter these numbers of recoveries. This spike comes after several directives were issued by the Government of Maharashtra restricting people of over 50 years from COVID-19 related frontline duties and also restricting people with COVID-19 symptoms.

This has caused some success as there has been an increase in the total recoveries among the police personnel but there needs to be more work done. The cases among the police personnel keep on increasing in Maharashtra which needs to be reduced by the increase in testing and also the isolation of police with symptoms and also the premeditated health condition such as diabetes, Asthma, etc from COVID-19 frontline duties and coming in contact with patients affected by COVID-19.

This cannot be considered as the full success of the state as there has been a spike in the overall cases with 11,088 cases confirmed today and the overall active cases coming to 1,48,553 which is one of the highest in India. There has also been overall death coming to 18,000. This needs to be taken seriously with more measures taken to reduce the Active COVID-19 cases and also the addition of the new cases.

This can be done in several ways including determining the containment zones and increasing the restrictions in the contaminants zone along with increased facilities in the public hospitals and quarantine centers for people affected by COVID-19.
