Ingredients for Rava Upma (Sooji Upma)
One cup rava (semolina)
Two tablespoons urad dal (soaked)
Two teaspoon Chana dal (soaked)
To cook oil or ghee
Mustard seeds
A pinch of asafoetida
6 to 7 cashews
One teaspoon chopped ginger
An onion finely chopped
A green chili finely chopped
10 to 12 curry leaves
Green peas
Carrots chopped
Beans Chopped
Capsicum finely chopped
Coriander leaves
Juice of one lemon
Taste according to salt
Water
Recipe for making Rava Upma Rava (Suji) Upma Recipe
First of all, do the kadhai on medium flame and roast semolina for 5 to 6 minutes.
After changing the semolina color, take it apart and put a spoon of oil in a hot pan.
When the oil is hot, add mustard.
Now add asafetida, curry leaves, cashews, gram dal, urad dal and ginger to the oil and cook for 1 minute.
After the spices are cooked, add onions and green chilies and cook it well.
After this add green vegetables and cook till the vegetables become soft.
After the vegetables are cooked, add salt as per taste and add water to it.
Let the water boil. After boiling the water, add roasted rava and lemon juice and mix well so that no lumps are formed.
After mixing it well, cover it and cook on low flame for 3 to 4 minutes.
After a while remove the lid and mix it well one more time.
Add green coriander over it and serve it.
