Chinese Apps TikTok, WeChat to Be Banned In US from Sunday: Report
U.S. authorities on Friday ordered a ban on downloading famous Chinese-owned mobile applications WeChat and TikTok from Sunday, saying they threatened national security.

The move comes in the midst of mounting pressures between the United States and China over technology and the Trump administration’s efforts to organize the sale of the TikTok video application to U.S. traders.
“The Chinese Communist Party has shown the methods and intentions to use these applications to threaten the public security, foreign policy, and the economy of the US,” Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross mentioned in a declaration.
The initiative would boycott WeChat, an application with huge use among Chinese sound system, and TikTookay from the web marketplace operated by Apple and Google.
Yet, while WeChat will effectively be closed down from Sunday within the US, current TikTookay consumer will be capable of proceed using the app till November 12 — when it could also face a full ban on its US operations.
